About Loujuan GSDs
Location
Loujuan GSDs is located in Oklahoma, the middle of the Heartland of America.
Our Dogs
First and foremost our dogs are members of the family. Their mental and physical health is as important to us as if they were a child. They are provided access to ample room to run, play, stretch, lounge, or whatever in 2 acres of wooded yard. With the exception of girls in heat, they are allowed to exercise as a pack. To maintain optimal physical health we feed a species appropriate raw diet (Whole Prey Model) to all of our dogs and recommend it to our new puppy owners as well. If you would like more information please contact us here.
Why We Breed
Although it was not my intention to become a German Shepherd Dog breeder when I acquired Darcie in 1997, I also knew that someday I would breed her at least once to continue having a dog with such wonderful attributes as a member of my family. As a former breeder of Collies, I was well aware of the potential risks involved with breeding dogs. I started searching for a suitable sire for Darcie's litter when she was 1 year old. I finally found him when she was 5. Tigger ( Altigre vom Haus Moab SchH1, WH) of Brush Creek Kennels (http://www.brushcreekkennels.com/index.htm) was the perfect match. After such a long search to find a sire that was mentally and physically sound, adhered to the GSD standard (SV or WSUV not AKC) and was longcoated, I decided that maybe there did need to be one more GSD breeder. Although we produce stock coats and long stock coats, the long stock coat is still my preference.
Our Goal
Our goal is to produce a limited number of mentally and physically sound German Shepherd Dogs, some of which may have the fault of being the wrong color ( Blue and hopefully Liver in the future),However, all puppies bred at Loujuan are bred foremost with the intent of maintaining the unique qualities of physical conformation, working ability, and attitude ( the physical and mental standard according to the SV or WSUV, with the exception of color ) that make a German Shepherd Dog one of the most popular working dogs and companions in the world.
